The Opportunity

  We are seeking a strategic and analytically driven finance executive to lead our Worldwide Sales Finance organization. As Senior Director, WW Sales Finance, you will be responsible for driving financial performance across the global Sales organization, ensuring disciplined investment, operational efficiency, and alignment with company-wide financial goals.

This is a critical leadership role within the Finance team, partnering directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and Sales leadership to deliver on our annual operating plan. You will translate business strategy into financial plans, enable data-driven decisions, and ensure financial rigor across all sales motions.


About the Team

You will be joining the Financial Planning & analysis (FP&A) organization, a global team of over 50 professionals led by the Senior Vice President of FP&A, Paula Wall.  Our FP&A team is a crucial partner to the entire business, responsible for driving strategic financial planning, budgeting, and operational efficiency across Nutanix.  We are a forward-looking group focused on enhancing the company’s financial and operational effectiveness through key initiatives in finance transformation, systems, automation, and organizational development.  


Your Role

You will lead a high-impact team responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and decision support. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Sales Strategy, Channel, Revenue Operations & Product Management—to shape programs that drive market share, long-term value creation, and ecosystem leverage.

Additionally, you will work in close partnership with the Portfolio and Ecosystem Finance team to consolidate overall Sales targets and forecasts, ensuring alignment across all GTM motions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate across various time zones with leaders and cross-functional team members spread across international time zones and locations.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing Sales Finance team, fostering analytical rigor, commercial acumen, and deep partnership with Sales leadership.
  • Own headcount and opex planning across all Sales functions, providing visibility into investment areas and productivity outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain scenario models and sensitivity analyses to inform investment decisions and strategic trade-offs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to financial planning and forecasting for the WW Sales organization to drive agility and scalability.
  • Lead the development of future-focused commercial offerings and competitive pricing structures in partnership with Sales Strategy, Product, and the Sales Program Office, proactively influencing HQ stakeholders to meet emerging market needs while mitigating financial risk.
  • Establish and uphold commercial governance frameworks that reinforce pricing discipline and discounting compliance.
  • Conduct deal inspections and approve strategic deals, ensuring pricing, payment terms, and commercial structures align with financial objectives.
  • Evaluate and validate business models for new opportunities, partnerships, and GTM initiatives.
  • Model and validate sales compensation programs for financial accuracy, affordability, and alignment with strategic priorities; partner closely with RevOps and HR on governance processes.
  • Oversee contra revenue and incentive accrual processes to ensure accurate accounting treatment and transparency in reporting.
  • Deliver ROI insights on sales investments, including headcount, enablement, and channel and other program spend, to ensure disciplined growth.
  • Support Channel and Partner teams with financial modeling, incentive ROI analysis, and contra revenue planning.
  • Serve as the primary liaison, effectively translating the Sales team's objectives, needs, and performance narrative to Corporate Finance and other HQ stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and consistent messaging, especially during AOP cycles.
  • Deliver executive-ready insights and reporting across key metrics, including bookings, renewal trends, productivity, and ROI on opex spending.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Leadership, Field Sales, Sales Strategy, Channel, Revenue Operations, and Corporate Finance to ensure alignment and a single source of truth.
  • Represent Finance in select customer and partner engagements requiring financial expertise.
  • Partner with the Portfolio and Ecosystem Finance team to integrate and align Sales Finance inputs into broader GTM financial planning.

What You Will Bring

  • 15+ years of experience in Sales Finance, GTM Strategy, or FP&A, ideally in enterprise software or SaaS.
  • Proven experience leading a global, remote team.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise sales motions, including new bookings, renewals, expansions, and indirect/channel dynamics.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning; advanced Excel required, Adaptive experience a plus
  • Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders, constructively challenge assumptions, and drive strategic outcomes through insight, not just data.
  • Proven ability to leverage external best practices while demonstrating the open-mindedness and intellectual curiosity to adapt them to the company's specific GTM model and products.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.  
  • Demonstrated resilience and stamina to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes, and complex global environment.
  • MBA, CMA, or similar advanced degree/certification preferred.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 240,000 and USD $ 480,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
